Until the end of 2025, the Société des Grands Projets is offering guided tours of the construction site for the future Versailles-Chantiers station on the Grand Paris Express line every other week.
The Versailles – Chantiers du Grand Paris Express station will be located on Rue de la Porte de Buc, west of the Porchefontaine district, and will be directly connected to the SNCF station of the same name. It is expected to serve 35,000 passengers per day, including some of the 21,000 residents who live within a 1km radius. It will complement the city's existing transport network, which already includes Transilien, RER, TER and TGV lines, by providing direct access to the southern part of the Île-de-France region, such as the Saclay plateau and Orly Airport. Construction began in 2024 with preparatory work. Since the beginning of 2025, the current phase has involved constructing the diaphragm walls that will enclose the underground station.
After the construction site was set up, a temporary access point was created from Rue de la Porte de Buc, and the old SNCF access point and the SNCF Infrapôle building were demolished. The year 2025 will see the launch of work on the station, with the construction of the diaphragm walls that will delimit its underground contours.
