One night, two humble children, Tyltyl and Mytyl, are entrusted by the fairy Bérylune with the task of finding the Blue Bird — the only cure for her daughter, whose affliction is a desire to be happy. To guide them on their quest, the fairy gives them a magic diamond capable of illuminating the world and opening the doors to enchanted realms that are, yet, strangely familiar.
