New conference organised by Maison Léon Blum! Join us on Thursday 25 September at 8pm in the Salle Haute du Vieux Marché (Jouy-en-Josas)!
2025 marks both the 75th anniversary of Léon Blum's death and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the camps and the end of the Second World War.
For Léon and Jeanne Blum, those few days in April and May 1945 were a perilous journey from their detention camp in Buchenwald to the mountains of South Tyrol, where they were liberated by Italian partisans and the American army.
Léon Blum recounts this frightening journey in his short book, Le dernier mois (The Last Month), which will be the subject of a conference led by Antoine Malamoud, Léon Blum's great-grandson, and Daniel Vermeire, secretary general of the Association Maison Léon Blum.
