Eugène Manet et sa fille dans le jardin de Bougival
La fable

Berthe Morisot lived in Bougival, as her daughter Julie tells us in her diary "the happiest moments of her life". The artist rented this house every summer from 1881 to 1884.

She had settled, with her husband Eugène Manet and her daughter Julie, at 4 rue de la Princesse (today 1 avenue de la Drionne) in this house, which was rented out every summer between 1881 and 1884. In 1882, she stayed there for most of the year. The house had a magnificent flower garden. She painted there: the Fable (1883), Eugène Manet and his daughter in the garden (1883), in the Veranda (1884), Garden in Bougival (1884), Hollyhocks...

This house of happiness will open on Sunday 1 December as a space dedicated to the artist, an Impressionist painter as well as a mother, wife and friend.

The museum space is structured around 7 sequences with didactic titles.
