Evoking the life of Pauline Viardot One Saturday a month, mezzo-soprano Parvati Maeder Lapointe and pianist Joel Keller will spend 30 minutes at the Villa Viardot evoking the stages in the musical life of Pauline Viardot.

▪️ her training as a pianist with Liszt and as a singer with her father Manuel Garcia and the famous singing method compiled by Manuel Garcia junior, a copy of which can be found in the Tourguéniev museum at the Datcha
▪️sa her career as a singer and her marriage to Louis Viardot, art critic, translator, director of the Théâtre des Italiens and later her agent, friend of George Sand, her friendship with Frédéric Chopin and Hector Berlioz
▪️ the artists invited to her salon: Charles Gounod, Camille Saint Saens, Gabriel Fauré, Cécile Chaminade, Reynaldo Hahn...
▪️ as well as a number of arias by Bizet, Debussy, Ravel and Poulenc

Combine a visit to the Tourguéniev museum-dacha (open from 2pm to 6pm) with musical entertainment at the Domaine des Frênes.

The Russian writer Ivan Tourguéniev discovered the Domaine des Frênes property in Bougival in 1874. It consists of a neo-Palladian villa and park in which he had a dacha built, now the Maison d'Illustre.
The singer, pianist and composer Pauline Viardot lived in the Villa Viardot until 1883, where she ran a music salon.
