An event not to be missed: a two-part oratorio based on a libretto by Iacopo Cassetti, first performed at the Ospedale della Pietà in 1716.

Come and experience ‘Juditha triumphans’ performed by Orkester Nord, conducted by Martin Wåhlberg and accompanied by the Royal Opera Chorus.

Composed in 1716 by Vivaldi for the female musicians of the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, this oratorio depicts the Venetian Republic’s victory over the Ottoman Empire through the character of Judith triumphing over General Holofernes.
