An event not to be missed: Bach illuminated by one of his greatest interpreters!

John Eliot Gardiner, conducting his new ensemble, creates a dialogue between religious fervour and jubilant theatricality in this strikingly intense masterpiece by Bach. Composed in 1725, the Easter Oratorio unfolds a musical fresco of the joy of the Resurrection, carried by virtuoso arias, dazzling choruses and colourful instrumentation – notably through the soaring flutes and oboes d'amore.

Gardiner, faithful to his expressive and rigorous reading of Bach, offers an interpretation in which every nuance becomes an evocation, every word a prayer. The complicity with The Constellation ensemble, whose musical commitment continues to be the talk of the town, promises a moment of grace that is both erudite and accessible, scholarly and embodied.
