An exceptional evening set to the hypnotic beats of the New York composer.

A pioneer of minimalist music, Steve Reich has never ceased to renew his art. Playing a central role in the evolution of contemporary music, he has influenced artists beyond his creative field, including in electronic music and contemporary dance.

Conducted by Grégoire Michaud, the musicians take up two pieces composed in the 1970s, bringing together all the American composer's techniques of rhythm and variation of timbre. The constantly changing sound combinations give his music an obsessive quality that makes listeners lose all sense of time.

programme :
● Music for eighteen musicians /violin, cello, clarinet, bass clarinet, female voices, pianos,
marimbas, xylophones and vibraphone

● Music for pieces of wood /5 pairs of claves
