This year, the theme of ‘Sport & Science’ resonates with current events (Rugby World Cup, Paris 2024 Olympic Games).
What are the benefits of physical activity for human health? Can technology take precedence over athletic performance? Scientists answer your questions through some incredible experiments.
From 9 to 13 October, the multimedia library is offering a range of science-related activities:
Storytelling on the theme of science and sport - Wednesday 11 October - 10.15am and 10.45am
Scientific workshop to find out how the main organs work - Wednesday 11 October - 3.30pm and 5pm
Workshop to create sports equipment from recycled materials - Wednesday 11 October - 4pm
Discover sport through video games and virtual reality - Wednesday 11 October - 4pm
Two exhibitions also await you. The first, ‘Science and Sport’, designed by the University of Paris-Saclay, sheds light on the contribution of science to the world of sport. It will be on display from 9 to 13 October at the media library, and on 14 October during the event at L'Onde Théâtre Centre d'Art.
The second, ‘Connais-tu ton corps?’, illustrated by Sébastien Chebret, will be on display from 10 October to 4 November at the media library. The plates, taken from books in the Je connais mon corps collection published by Ricochet, invite you to understand the workings of the human body.
