For one weekend, the Palace of Versailles is celebrating 250 years of American independence with a historical re-enactment for the whole family.
The public will be free to wander around the military bases and meet 500 knowledgeable and enthusiastic re-enactors, dressed in uniforms that have been recreated with the utmost precision.
Experience a spectacular immersion in the heart of the 18th century with equestrian and military demonstrations, as well as the discovery of ancient crafts. Scottish quadrille, Boston dancing and period music concerts will also be featured, offering the public a true journey through time.
The highlight of these two days will be La Grande Bataille, a breathtaking spectacle in which the insurgents and their allies will face off against the English military in a re-enactment of the forces involved in the Battle of Yorktown!
Re-enactments, music and camp life: history comes back to life at the Palace of Versailles.
