"Photographic Metamorphoses," an exhibition by Caroline Leite, is on view at the Palais du Roi de Rome.
Caroline Leite reinvents the way we perceive photography by presenting her “photographic metamorphoses.” This refers to the moment when a photograph is no longer content to simply show reality as it is. Through her choice of medium (prints on concrete, frames, glass plates, etc.), manipulation, layering, changes in scale, and the blending of photography with drawing and other techniques, the image is transformed. In these works, photography is no longer just a flat image hanging on the wall: it becomes a tangible experience.
This exhibition has been awarded the national “Bicentennial of Photography” designation. It is also on view at two other locations in the Yvelines department: the Petit Moulin in Vaux-de-Cernay and the Clairefontaine Chapel.
