Investigator of the CNRS (Centro de Estudios de la Lengua y Literatura Francesas de los Siglos XVII y XVIII, Universidad Paris-Sorbona), his work was centered on the philosophical subject of Illustration (in particular, Voltaire) and his legacy (Nietzsche, Anatole France, etc.). He is a poet and literary translator, especially German and Hungarian poetry.
